Xiaomi, after the successful rollout of HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 for multiple Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO models in China, has now begun preparations for HyperOS 3 based on Android 15. This new testing phase is meant for older devices that have reached their EOL (End of Life)—meaning they have completed their promised official update cycle. These models will receive one final HyperOS 3 update, but it will be based on Android 15 instead of Android 16.
This ensures that even older devices receive important system improvements, optimizations, and visual refinements before Xiaomi ends major OS support for them.
Devices Now in Testing for HyperOS 3 (Android 15)
Xiaomi has already started internal testing for the following models:
- Xiaomi 13 Lite / Xiaomi Civi 2
- POCO F5 Pro / Redmi K60
- POCO X6 Neo / Redmi Note 13 5G / Redmi Note 13R Pro
- Xiaomi MIX FOLD 2
- Redmi Note 12T Pro
- Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro
- Xiaomi 12T Pro / Redmi K50 Ultra
- Xiaomi Civi 3
- Xiaomi 12 Pro
- Xiaomi 12S Ultra
- Xiaomi 12
- Redmi K60 Pro
Since these models have reached the end of their official upgrade roadmap, HyperOS 3 Android 15 is expected to be their final major system update.
HyperOS 3 Key Features
Even though these devices will not get the Android 16 version of HyperOS 3, the Android 15 variant will still include the core system improvements:
- Better performance & smoother multitasking
Simpler memory usage, refined animations, and improved UI responsiveness. - Updated visuals & interface elements
Cleaner layouts, new system icons, and support for HyperIsland, depending on device capability. - AI system improvements
Faster on-device photo processing, smarter suggestions, and improved scene detection. - Improved cross-device connectivity
Easier syncing, quicker transfers, and more stable ecosystem interactions. - Gallery & media upgrades
Faster previews, improved animations, and enhanced search features. - Enhanced privacy & security controls
Better permission management, safer device-to-device communication, and updated protection layers.
These improvements bring a fresh and more modern experience to older models even without the Android 16 base.
Xiaomi’s decision to push HyperOS 3 (Android 15) as the final upgrade for these devices shows a positive commitment to long-term stability and performance. Users with these models will still benefit from new visuals, UI refinements, enhanced performance, and better privacy—even though they are not included in the Android 16 rollout.
Once testing progresses further, Xiaomi is expected to announce the official release timelines. Let me know if you want a shorter Telegram-style update or a device-by-device rollout breakdown.
