Redmi is gearing up for a major product launch in India early next year. The company has officially confirmed that the Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G will make its Indian debut on January 6, 2026, alongside the Redmi Note 15 5G. The upcoming tablet will be available through the Redmi India website, Flipkart, and Amazon India.
With the launch just around the corner, Redmi has begun revealing key details about the Indian variant, providing a clearer picture of what to expect.
Big Display, Smooth Experience
The Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G will feature a 12.1-inch (30.73cm) QHD+ display paired with a 120Hz refresh rate, promising smooth scrolling and fluid animations. The display also supports Dolby Vision, making it ideal for watching movies, streaming content, and gaming.

Despite the large screen and massive battery, the tablet remains impressively slim at 7.5mm and weighs just 610 grams, thanks to its metal unibody design.
Powered by Snapdragon 7s Gen 4
At its core, the tablet will run on the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor. Redmi claims this makes the Pad 2 Pro 5G the fastest Redmi tablet in the ₹20,000 to ₹30,000 price category, ensuring smooth multitasking and reliable performance for everyday workloads.

This chipset is expected to deliver better efficiency and sustained performance compared to previous-generation Redmi tablets.
Massive Battery and Loud, Immersive Sound
One of the biggest highlights is the 12,000mAh battery, which Redmi says is the largest ever in a 12.1-inch tablet. This should easily translate into extended screen-on time for work, study, and entertainment.

For audio, the tablet features a quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos. According to Xiaomi, the speakers can deliver up to 300% louder output, offering a more immersive sound experience whether you’re watching content or attending online classes.
Global Model, India-Focused Launch
Interestingly, the Indian Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G features the same specifications as the global model, which was launched in September 2025. Globally, Redmi also introduced a Wi-Fi-only version and a Matte Glass edition.
For India, however, Redmi has only confirmed the 5G variant so far. There is no official information yet on whether the other variants will be introduced in the country.
What This Means for Indian Buyers
With its large high-resolution display, Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chip, massive battery, and premium build, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G appears to be positioned as a strong mid-range tablet option for Indian users.
While official pricing will be announced at launch, Redmi’s own claims suggest aggressive pricing in the ₹20,000–₹30,000 range, making it a compelling choice for students, professionals, and entertainment enthusiasts.
Bottom Line
The Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G is shaping up to be a well-rounded tablet that balances performance, display quality, battery life, and design. All eyes are now on January 6, 2026, when Redmi will finally reveal pricing and availability details for the Indian market.
