Xiaomi is preparing for a massive new wave of HyperOS 3 updates in December, bringing the latest Android 16–based software to a wide range of Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices. After the first phase of rollouts earlier, December is shaping up to be one of the biggest months yet for HyperOS 3 expansion.
This upcoming wave will focus mainly on flagship devices, mid-range phones, and even tablets, allowing millions of users across different regions to experience Xiaomi’s newest software improvements.

What Has Already Received HyperOS 3 So Far
Before the December rollout, Xiaomi had already started pushing HyperOS 3 to a limited list of devices. The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 15 series received early rollout builds across a few regions. On the Redmi side, Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G, Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G, Redmi 15 5G, and Redmi 13 4G were among the first to get the update. The rebranded POCO variant, POCO M6 4G, also received HyperOS 3 in select markets. Additionally, POCO M7 5G users already got access to the global build.
This first wave mainly focused on flagship and selected mid-range devices, laying the groundwork for the much larger December expansion.
What HyperOS 3 Brings and What Users Should Do
HyperOS 3 introduces noticeable improvements in UI smoothness, animation fluidity, battery management, system security, and AI-based optimization. Users can expect better multitasking performance, faster app launches, refined gaming performance, and improved background task handling. The Android 16 base also enhances privacy controls and overall system stability.
Since Xiaomi follows a staged rollout policy, even confirmed devices may receive the update gradually. Users should regularly check Settings > About Phone > Updater, ensure sufficient free storage, keep the battery level above 50 percent, and back up important data before installing the update.
