Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi Note 15 Series in China, including the Redmi Note 15, Redmi Note 15 Pro, and Redmi Note 15 Pro+. While the phones bring big batteries, brighter displays, and some new features, many fans are calling this lineup a letdown compared to expectations.
Redmi Note 15 – The Base Model
The standard Redmi Note 15 comes with a 6.77″ FHD+ 120Hz 3D Curved OLED display boasting 3200 nits peak brightness. It runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen3 chip and features a 50MP Light Hunter 400 sensor along with a 2MP secondary camera.
Other highlights include:
- 8MP front camera
- 5800mAh battery with 45W charging
- 18W reverse charging
- Android 15 with HyperOS 2.2
- IP66 rating, IR blaster
- Slim 7.35mm body, weighing 178g
At just 999¥ (~6+128GB), it looks affordable, but the compromises are clear.
Redmi Note 15 Pro – Bigger Battery, More Features
The Note 15 Pro upgrades to a 6.83″ TCL M9 1.5K 120Hz Flat OLED panel and is powered by the Dimensity 7400 Ultra. On the back, it sports a 50MP LYT-600 (OIS) + 8MP ultra-wide setup, with a 20MP front camera.
Key features include:
- Huge 7000mAh battery with 45W charging
- 22.5W reverse charging
- 5000mm² VC cooling
- IP69K/69 rating, WiFi 6, NFC, IR Blaster
- Xiaomi Dragon Crystal Glass
- Slim 7.78mm, 210g weight
It is priced at 1399¥ (~12+256GB), which looks good on paper, but again, Xiaomi cuts corners elsewhere.
Redmi Note 15 Pro+ – The Top Model
The Note 15 Pro+ is supposed to be the flagship of this lineup. It offers a 6.83″ TCL M9 1.5K 120Hz Quad-Curved OLED Display, powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen4. The camera setup includes a 50MP Light Hunter 800 with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP telephoto (2.5x) lens. The selfie camera is a 32MP OV32D.
Other specs include:
- 7000mAh battery with 90W fast charging
- 22.5W reverse charging
- 5200mm² VC cooling
- IP69K/69 rating, WiFi 6, NFC, IR Blaster
- 7.91mm thickness, 210g
The price is 1899¥ (~12+256GB), but fans still feel underwhelmed.
Why the Disappointment?
Despite good displays, solid battery life, and IP69K durability, Xiaomi has stuck with old-generation hardware in memory and storage.
👉 The entire Redmi Note 15 Series uses LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage, which is shocking in 2025 when most competitors are offering LPDDR5/5X and UFS 3.1/4.0 for much better speed and efficiency.
This decision alone makes the series feel outdated at launch. Add to that the mid-range chipsets and minimal design changes, and the Note 15 series looks more like a safe refresh rather than an exciting upgrade.
Final Thoughts
The Redmi Note series has always been popular for bringing new technology at budget prices, but the Note 15 lineup fails to excite. While the massive batteries and bright displays are nice, Xiaomi’s choice to stick with LPDDR4X + UFS 2.2 makes these phones feel behind the competition.
In short, the Redmi Note 15 Series is more of a disappointment than a breakthrough.
