Xiaomi is going to launch it’s upcoming Redmi Note 15 Pro Series devices in China this month. The Note series devices are the most popular devices across the globe but the hype is not same for Indian smartphone market as this year again the brand is using same chipset Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 for the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ device.
Why Note Series Hype is Down in India?
The Redmi Note series ranked as the world’s best-selling domestic smartphone in the $175–$499 segment during H1 2025 but the hype is not same for Indian smartphone user. There was a time when people always waited for the Redmi Note Series smartphones but gradually the interest of users has shifted towards other brands as the brand is not providing any great value for the price.

Is Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 a Bad Chipset?
Last year, Xiaomi launched Redmi Note 14 Pro+ device with the same chipset. Now, the chipset is not bad but the problem comes with pricing. As expected the price of the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ device could be above 30K in India and for this price the chipset is actually bad. Here’s why:
Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 has 8 core CPU along with Adreno 810 GPU. This chipset was announced in August 2024 and is manufactured under 4nm process technology. Now, this chipset is made for high end tasks such as Gaming or Editing purposes. But there is no problem with the chipset if you want to use it as for normal day to day tasks.
The benchmark scores of Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 are around 800K on Antutu, and it scores 1178 on single core, 3146 on multi core in Geekbench 6 test. These scores are just average for a phone launched above 30K especially India.
Since it’s officially confirmed that Xiaomi will use the same chipset for the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ device this year and we can’t do anything about it. Let’s wait for the launch of Redmi Note 15 Pro+ device in China to know the prices.
