POCO X7 Pro HyperOS 3 Update Pulled After Dolby Audio Bug — Fix Coming Soon

Xiaomi has once again paused the rollout of HyperOS 3 for the POCO X7 Pro, after users reported serious issues related to Dolby Audio sound quality. The problematic update, released globally with version OS3.0.5.0.WOJMIXM, has now been completely discontinued or rolled back due to multiple user complaints.

This development has caused frustration among POCO X7 Pro users, especially those who were eagerly waiting for the HyperOS 3 experience but are now dealing with degraded audio performance.

HyperOS 3 Update Rolled Back Due to Audio Issues

Xiaomi initially rolled out HyperOS 3 for the POCO X7 Pro globally with build OS3.0.5.0.WOJMIXM. Soon after installation, users began reporting poor Dolby Audio output, including:

  • Reduced loudness
  • Flat or muffled sound profile
  • Loss of Dolby enhancement effects
  • Inconsistent audio behavior across apps

After investigating the reports, Xiaomi officially acknowledged the issue and decided to halt the rollout entirely. As a result, the update is no longer available for download, and devices that had not yet received it will remain on older firmware.

Xiaomi Confirms Fix Is in Progress

Xiaomi has confirmed that the Dolby Audio issue is real and reproducible, and the company is actively working on a fix. According to internal status updates, a new HyperOS 3 build addressing the audio degradation is already under development.

If everything goes as planned, the fixed update is expected to roll out by the end of this month, starting with limited testing before a wider release. Xiaomi aims to restore proper Dolby Audio tuning and ensure consistent sound quality across media playback, calls, and system sounds.

Multiple HyperOS 3 Rollbacks for POCO X7 Pro

This is not the first time HyperOS 3 updates for the POCO X7 Pro have faced issues. In fact:

  • Two HyperOS 3 updates have already been rolled back for this device
  • Many users haven’t received a single HyperOS 3 update yet
  • A large portion of POCO X7 Pro users are still running HyperOS 2

Because of these repeated problems, Xiaomi has slowed down the rollout to avoid pushing unstable software to more devices.

HyperOS 3 Stability Still a Concern for POCO Devices

The POCO X7 Pro is not the only device facing issues. Other POCO models, such as the POCO F7 series, have also encountered bugs, restarts, performance drops, and system instability in early HyperOS 3 builds.

Due to these widespread problems, Xiaomi is taking a more cautious approach, preferring to delay updates rather than release unstable firmware. While this results in longer waiting times, it ultimately helps prevent major user-facing issues.

What POCO X7 Pro Users Should Do Now

If you are a POCO X7 Pro user:

  • Do not worry if you haven’t received HyperOS 3 yet
  • Staying on HyperOS 2 is currently the safer option
  • Avoid installing unofficial or leaked builds
  • Wait for Xiaomi to release the fixed HyperOS 3 update

Once the corrected build is released, Xiaomi is expected to resume a staged rollout for Global, Europe, and other regions.

While HyperOS 3 promises smoother animations, better performance, and a refreshed UI, its rollout on the POCO X7 Pro has been far from smooth. The poor Dolby Audio quality issue forced Xiaomi to roll back the update, but the good news is that the company has acknowledged the problem and is actively working on a solution.
