Poco has officially confirmed the launch date of the Poco M8 5G in India. The smartphone will debut on January 8, 2026, at 12:00 PM IST, and the brand has now revealed its complete rear design along with a few key specifications.
The Poco M8 5G features a slim 7.35mm profile and weighs around 178 grams, making it one of the sleekest phones in its segment. Design-wise, the device sports a dual-tone rear panel, with a grey centre section flanked by black carbon fibre-inspired racing stripes on both sides. At the top, there’s a squircle-shaped camera module that houses dual rear cameras, an LED flash, and a third decorative ring.
Poco has already confirmed that the phone will come with a 50MP primary rear camera. However, the brand has not officially disclosed the full specification sheet yet.

Poco M8 5G: Expected Specifications (Rumoured)
While Poco hasn’t officially disclosed the full specifications, industry leaks suggest that the Poco M8 5G could be a rebranded Redmi Note 15 Pro. If true, the device may come with a 6.83-inch AMOLED display featuring a 120Hz refresh rate. Performance-wise, it could be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra chipset, paired with up to 8GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB UFS 2.2 storage.
The rumoured specifications also point to a massive 7,000mAh battery with 45W fast wired charging support. In the camera department, the 50MP main sensor could be accompanied by an 8MP ultra-wide lens, while the front may house a 20MP selfie camera.
Expected Pricing and Market Position
If the Poco M8 5G launches with aggressive pricing and closely mirrors the Redmi Note 15 Pro’s hardware, it could emerge as one of the best smartphones under ₹20,000 in India, especially for users looking for a large AMOLED display, a big battery, and a slim design.
More official details are expected to surface as we get closer to the launch date.
