Xiaomi has officially acknowledged a screen flickering issue affecting the Redmi Note 14 after the rollout of the HyperOS 3 update. Users running firmware version OS3.0.4.0.WOGMIXM have reported abnormal display behavior, including intermittent flickering and unstable brightness levels during regular usage.
According to Xiaomi’s latest internal bug status, the issue has been identified and is currently under investigation. This confirms that the problem is software-related and linked to the current HyperOS 3 build rather than a hardware defect.
Several users have reported that the screen flickers randomly while scrolling, switching apps, or adjusting brightness. In some cases, the flickering becomes more noticeable under low brightness or dark mode usage, which can be uncomfortable for prolonged viewing and may affect daily usability.
The affected build, OS3.0.4.0.WOGMIXM, is the first major HyperOS 3 release for the Redmi Note 14. As with many early HyperOS 3 updates, Xiaomi is still optimizing display drivers, refresh-rate handling, and power-related rendering behavior. Display flickering issues are often linked to these low-level system components, especially during the early stages of a major OS transition.
Xiaomi has not yet provided a confirmed timeline for the fix, but the “under investigation” status indicates that engineers are actively working on identifying the root cause. Based on previous HyperOS 3 bug resolutions, the fix may arrive through a minor OTA patch or be bundled into the next HyperOS 3 update for the Redmi Note 14.
Until the fix is released, users are advised to:
- Avoid extreme brightness changes if flickering is noticeable
- Temporarily disable dark mode or adaptive brightness if it worsens the issue
- Refrain from installing unofficial firmware builds
- Regularly check the system updater for new updates
This issue adds to the growing list of early HyperOS 3 stability concerns across several Xiaomi and POCO devices. Xiaomi has been gradually addressing these problems through weekly bug reports and follow-up updates, suggesting that overall stability will improve with upcoming releases.
While the screen flickering problem is inconvenient, the positive sign is that Xiaomi has formally acknowledged the issue and confirmed that a fix is in progress. Redmi Note 14 users can expect improved display stability once the corrective update is rolled out.
