The Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G is currently experiencing a serious problem on the OS3.0.2.0.WOPMIXM HyperOS 3 build, where users are seeing random pop-up ads that appear without any action. Xiaomi has investigated the issue and confirmed that it is caused by a malicious third-party application identified as tf.tap.fame, which is triggering unwanted advertisements and interrupting the normal user experience.
According to the latest internal update, the cause of the issue has been fully identified and the situation is now marked as known, meaning Xiaomi’s software team is actively working on a fix. Although the random pop-up ads are not caused by HyperOS itself, the company is taking responsibility by preparing system-level measures to prevent this kind of behavior and protect users from malicious applications in the future.
Users currently running the OS3.0.2.0.WOPMIXM version may experience sudden ad windows or unexpected overlays due to this harmful app. Xiaomi recommends checking recently installed applications and removing suspicious apps immediately. The team is also preparing additional safeguards through upcoming updates to eliminate the issue entirely. For now, Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G users will need to wait for the official patch, which is already in development.
The problem does not affect the core performance or stability of HyperOS 3, but the intrusive ads can be disruptive. Once Xiaomi releases the fix, the Redmi Note 14 Pro+ 5G will return to its normal clean interface without pop-ups. Users are advised to keep an eye on the system updater for new builds and install them as soon as they become available.
