Xiaomi has announced that it’s latest devices will now receive software updates upto 5 years along with 7 years of security patches. This move has surprised every Xiaomi user as it’s a great news that now Xiaomi users like other smartphone OEMs can recieve longer software updates.
Which Xiaomi Phone will Recieve 5 Years of Updates?
The brand has updated it’s software policy on their Mi Trust Center website for the Redmi Pad 2 and Redmi Pad 2 4G devices which was launched in June 2025. Although the brand hasn’t announced such longer software support for the Redmi Pad 2/4G at the time of launch but they have finally changed the major software support upto Android 20 and security patch updates upto 2032.
That’s a crazy news for Xiaomi users, now they can also enjoy longer software support brands like Samsung, Apple, and Google. This will also ensure that the device will perform smooth and stable with latest updates. Also, the update frequency is still 90 days. Xiaomi should start focusing on monthly updates for it’s latest phones or devices launched under 30K segement.
