BGMI Crashes and Restarts Reported on POCO F7 and Xiaomi Pad 7 After HyperOS 3 Update

Xiaomi has officially acknowledged BGMI-related crashes and restarts affecting two devices running early HyperOS 3 builds — the POCO F7 and the Xiaomi Pad 7. According to the latest internal bug status, the issue has been identified and is currently under active investigation.

The problem impacts different firmware versions on each device. POCO F7 users running OS3.0.2.0.WOLINXM have reported that the device restarts automatically while playing BGMI, whereas Xiaomi Pad 7 users on OS3.0.1.0.WOZINXM are facing BGMI force closes accompanied by error pop-up messages.

For POCO F7 users, the issue appears during gameplay sessions, where the phone suddenly reboots without warning. This behavior makes long gaming sessions unreliable and can lead to progress loss, overheating concerns, and general instability. On the Xiaomi Pad 7, the issue manifests differently — BGMI launches but crashes after a short period, displaying a system error dialog before closing the app.

Xiaomi has confirmed that both problems are software-related and tied to the current HyperOS 3 builds rather than hardware defects. Since HyperOS 3 introduces major changes to system scheduling, GPU handling, and memory management, gaming-related issues like these can surface during early rollout stages, especially in performance-intensive titles such as BGMI.

The status being marked as “under active investigation” indicates that Xiaomi’s engineering team is already working on reproducing the issue and preparing a fix. Based on previous HyperOS 3 bug resolutions, the solution is likely to arrive either through a minor OTA patch or as part of the next HyperOS 3 update for both devices.

Until the fix is released, affected users are advised to:

  • Avoid long BGMI sessions if restarts or crashes occur frequently
  • Lower in-game graphics settings as a temporary workaround
  • Ensure no background apps are consuming excessive resources
  • Avoid installing unofficial firmware or game mods
  • Keep checking the system updater for upcoming fixes

This issue adds to the growing list of early HyperOS 3 stability problems reported across multiple Xiaomi and POCO devices, particularly in gaming scenarios. Xiaomi has been publishing weekly bug reports and rolling out corrective updates, suggesting that overall stability will improve as HyperOS 3 matures.

While the BGMI crash and restart issue is frustrating for gamers, the positive sign is that Xiaomi has publicly acknowledged the problem and confirmed that a fix is actively being worked on. Once resolved, BGMI gameplay on both POCO F7 and Xiaomi Pad 7 should return to normal performance and stability.
